Yount Program for Educational Advancement

Worthy members may be called to be Yount Instructors for each Coordinating Council sets of stakes. Many qualified stake educational advancement specialists also choose to be instructors for the convenience of stake members. The contact information on the Yountprogram.org website shows instructors and which stake education specialists are also instructors.

At minimum, instructors should be familiar with post high school education options and the processes related to successful preparation, entry and completion.

Instructor Duties

  1. Work under the direction of their Coordinating Council through their Education Specialist.
  2. Teach the Yount Seminar as requested by stake educational advancement specialists.
  3. Understand and be familiar with the content associated with each section of the Yount Seminar.
  4. Teach as part of the Yount seminar (or arrange for the teaching of it) Part I of the Career Workshop offered by the LDS Employment Center.
  5. Utilize experts as needed to help teach technical aspects of the Yount Seminar such as career selection, the types of schooling options available, searching and applying for scholarships, education plans, financial plans, networking for success, etc.
  6. Work with other instructors to improve the content and delivery of the Yount Seminar. A special website is available for this purpose.
