Educational Advancement Specialists Duties

Duties of RWC Educational Advancement Specialist

  1. Assist stake and ward leaders as directed by the RWC and Area 70.
  2. See that local leaders are briefed on the Yount Program and its operation.
  3. Train stakes and wards on how to identify, round up and orient people who could profit from further education.
  4. Train and support stake Educational Advancement Specialists.
  5. Teach the Seminar (or arrange to have it taught) to member groups.
  6. Collect monthly reports from stake advancement specialists and submit a summary report to priesthood leaders and Yount headquarters.
  7. Understand the Loan application process and assist applicants.
  8. Work with the local Employment Center to facilitate the delivery of the Career Workshop as needed by participants.
  9. Make recommendations to the Yount Program administrator.

 

Duties of Stake Educational Advancement Specialist

  1. See that ward council is briefed on the need for educational advancement and what the Yount Program offers.
  2. Train wards on how to identify, round up and orient people who could profit from further education.
  3. Train ward educational advancement specialists.
  4. Teach the Seminar (or arrange to have it taught) to member groups.
  5. Collect monthly reports from ward advancement specialists and submit a summary report to stake and regional priesthood leaders and Yount headquarters.
  6. Understand the loan application process and assist applicants.
  7. Work with the regional educational advancement specialist to schedule the delivery of the Career Workshop as needed.
  8. Make recommendations to the Yount Program administrator.

 

Duties of Ward Educational Advancement Specialist

  1. See that all ward members are briefed on the importance of educational advancement and the helps available.
  2. Round up and orient those in need of educational advancement.
  3. Teach the Yount Seminar (or arrange to have it taught) to member groups.
  4. Track progress of those who sign up for educational advancement.
  5. Maintain ward tracking sheet and submit monthly reports to stake advancement specialists and ward leaders.
  6. Mentor, or find mentors for each person preparing for or attending school.
  7. Get help as needed from stake educational advancement specialist.
